Imagine the loneliness and isolation felt by our seniors who have been – without hugs, without kisses, and only socially distanced visits for almost TWO years! While they are no doubt receiving awesome care from nurses and healthcare providers, many are suffering from loneliness. Studies show that loneliness can have a significant impact on overall health. Some studies even suggest a link between loneliness and an increased risk for developing dementia and Alzheimer’s. After talking with just a few directors at our local nursing and long-term care facilities, it is clear that residents are in need of some love and joy.

Here's how it works;

Ah, Whatta ‘Bout Mimi has reached out to several nursing communities in Louisville. We just completed delivery to our first community – Signature Healthcare of South Louisville. Here’s how it works. 

1. We contacted the Activities Director and she said yes without a doubt this was a program that she would like for her 78 residents.
2. We reached out to people like you to sponsor a senior by purchasing a Balloon Buddy.
3. Once we had a sponsor for every resident, we built the Balloon Buddies and delivered them to Signature Healthcare.  We only deliver once all the residents have been sponsored.
4. Now we are opening up adoptions for a new community. Our mission over the next few months is to deliver as many Smiling Balloon Buddies as possible to our seniors in long-term care facilities.

 We also ask that you tell your friends and family, challenge your co-workers, spread the word as the more people we can get involved the more seniors we can reach. Thank you!!!
